My own take on the "99 Bottles of Beer" coding challenge, in C (the computer language, not the note).

Definitely more efficient than the C entries listed on the website that started it all, but probably not as readable.

Many people have been asking me why I no longer release music. I thank them all for showing interest in my work.

The answer is simple: releases don't pay anymore. At current sale rates, they don't even pay for the time and effort I put into making a track. I simply have no incentive to publish my new music.

What even many industry insiders will not admit - to the public or even to themselves - is that the recorded music business is dead.

The small independent labels died first. Some may still refuse to close doors, but release schedules are revealing. Not to mention balance sheets. New indies being set up (mostly by idealistic and/or delusional newcomers) usually last a few months. Then they "get it": You can't sell what's available for free.

What is left are basically the major labels, which are finding new ways to make money off artists (typically by getting a cut on live show tickets, which was never the case before).

Many artists pride themselves on displaying a "Crisis? What crisis?" kind of attitude. I prefer to tell it like it is. Whereas, in past decades, "Video Killed the Radio Star", in the early 2000's P2P killed the record industry. Only this time it was literal.

If there's enough interest, I'll try and bring my new music directly to the audience by DJing. Otherwise, I'll just keep it in a drawer and listen to it myself once in a while.

That's it, folks: The public has spoken. They decided they wanted the music for free. I decided my music is worth more than zero.
